Gots Lots

A LOT has been going on.
It's SUMMER!

I got my first set of tan lines.

Jake & I saw the [traveling] Broadway show, Mary Poppins! I loved it. So magical. I can't wait till Wicked is here again, I've already seen it twice...but it's my favorite!

Jake is starting a moving company in Portland. www.BridgetownMoving.com

If there are any Oregonians out there that need some trustworthy [BUFF, handsome fellas] help - CHECK IT OUT!

BACK TO THE FUTURE

I wish I lived in the 1950's. [or the Roarin' 20's...but only if I lived in Paris]

I got to do a little time traveling this weekend.

Jake & his old lady, Snickers.

We love to dance.

My best friend, Heather. Circa 1995?

Slumber School

Can't sleep.
Finals tomorrow.

[Heather, I know you're reading this...& Jake agrees; the unicorn is malnourished. I think she looks lanky]

I just finished a fascinating book on Cleopatra & Antony & love/politics in the Ancient World. Any good recommendations? I like history now.

In with the Princesses

LOVE.

LOVE, too.

Since my boyfriend is scared of the unicorn...these might be better.

Free Finds

When I lived in Hollywood, my roommates & I would drive into the H-Wood Hills...and look for furniture.

Sounds weird, but wealthy Californians would leave their "junk" on the side of the street for people to take. "How nice of them", I would say; but come to think of it, they were probably too lazy to take it to the dump OR put it on Craigslist.

Our "treasure hunts" were always successful; an almost-new couch, modern lamps, VINTAGE tables & dressers [MY FAVORITE]! I miss my free furniture.

Now, in SE [south east] Portland, people do the same thing...except theirs is usually junk - in every sense of the word. You have to look REALLY hard when you drive past a pile of something on the sidewalk. Every now&again you can find a neat vintage table or chair that can be brought-back-to-life with a fresh coat of paint.

Well, TODAY I was driving along in a beautiful SE neighborhood & spotted something so magical that I HAD to stop.

UNICORN! UNICORN! UNICORN!

With "precious moments" eyes & glitter. WOW-eee.

Now, where do I put it? I'm not sure how much my boyfriend likes unicorns :)

This is...HALLOWEEN!

Today, it reached 87 degrees in Portland.
That's some pretty major weather for us Oregonians & I LOVE IT!

Summer is my favorite season until mid-July, then I'm ready for Fall & HALLOWEEN!

Quarter

I turned 25 yesterday.
& I still feel like the child inside of me is still alive. Goody-goody gumdrops.
I hate the idea of getting old.
There is nothing fancy about it, in my opinion.
BUT! As long as my inner-child is alive & well,
then I will be okay.

So, cheers to getting old...kind of.

PDX Prom

Prom was a success!
I wish Portland had one every weekend...that way I could dress-up fancy things more often.

There was a live band, that covered MGMT to oldies & another dance lounge that played old-school HIP HOP [my sister was in Heaven - I love watching her rap along with Snoop].

WE EVEN GOT A LIMO!
Everyone drank champagne, while I poured my Rockstar into a flute [I stopped drinking in September - I don't see any benefits in drinking alcohol]. We TOASTED, we DANCED, we SANG & we had the best time ever.

The only thing that could've made the night more magical...if Jake was there.

It's a small world.

It may be a small world after all, but Jake is THOUSANDS of miles away.

It's starting to get me a lil' bummed. He's on a tiny island near Australia, with big people and lush jungles. There is no way for me to call him, so I fill his inbox with a lot of e-mails and hopes he can read them soon.

BUT! This Sunday, I was @ Disneyland with some dear friends of mine and Jake called! 3 times. BUT! My phone was dead. Sad. BUT! As soon as I got to my friend's house, he called again & we had a conversation. It was amazing to talk to him, knowing how far away he is...& it was also amazing to realize HOW MUCH people take for granted.

NOW, onto Disneyland. MAGiCAL! MAGiCAL! (I'll blog more about it tomorrow).

A Whole New World

WOW-za! Lots of linens & things going on in my life.

#1 - Jake left to the tiny island of Samoa. He's working with an Archeology team & was there last July. He will be gone 6 weeks & I already miss him like crazy. I am so proud of him...he's going into uncharted land, that ARCHEOLOGISTS have never surveyed. Pray for his safety!

#2 - I'm "Belle" from Beauty & The Beast with a theater production company in Portland. I will work events & children's parties as one of the many princesses.

#3 - My hair accessories are being sold in The Pearl district @ a store called LITTLE THINGS. Yay!

#4 - I know how to make awesome animal balloons.

#5 - I'm going to DISNEYLAND in 1 week!

The Sweetest Thing.

I thank God for placing Jake in my life, just at the right time.

Sometime in September 2009, I almost hit Jake with my car & who would've thought that would turn into love!?

He is such a stand-up man & keeps me highly entertained.
When we first starting dating, he took me to DISNEY-ON-ICE! For real, front row seats.
Since then, we have been inseparable.

Just a little rant.

Now, we are going to going to have a magical movie night.

I obsessed with anything floral these days. Weird.

Love these jeans.

Squinty (FISH) Eyes

I could hardly wait to get my photos developed...which is why I took so many pointless pictures with my new camera [surprisingly, I got some gems].

SPRING is here. Right outside the front door.

Spring then SUMMER! Just when I couldn't stand Portland rain any longer...a sunny day comes around. Portland is so beautiful and lush, thanks to the rain showers; it's true "April showers bring May flowers".

Jake & I took a walk [we should have rode our bikes!]

Because we haven't seen the SUN in 8+ months, we look like squinty-eyed vampires.
GOD IS GOOD, LIFE IS GOOD!

...oh yeah...
I like this picture. For some weird reason.

FISH EYE

What a pretty lil' thing I found @ Urban Outfitters.

I got a new Lomography camera.
"The fish eye view; the way goldfish and LOMOGRAPHERS see and live life" ...

I could not resist the salmon pink color. LOVE IT! Can't wait to upload funky photos.

Rain, rain GO AWAY!!!

April 1st, the weather was perfect. Warm & full of sunshine.
HA! HA! April's Fools in Portland.

It's been pouring down rain ever since.

Girls are made of Sugar & Spice.

So stoked.
I'm going to PROM!
I know I'm almost in my mid-twenties...
Portland is hosting PORTLAND PROM for 21+.
How brilliant is that?!
Our Prom group is growing rapidly, so we may even get a limo!

My "Prom" isn't until May, but I couldn't wait to get my dress.
(I already have the hippest date around, not to mention he
has major-moves). Being that I'm not 16, I had to find an appropriate
dress...so...I started shopping ASAP.

I can't share details yet, but it looks like one of the dresses towards the back of the rack. LOTS of lace & ruffles, although it's 1 solid color. Can't wait to take pictures! (& I got it on SALE! Score!)

SO PRETTY! I love Betsey Johnson dresses. When I went to Hong Kong, I visited a huge warehouse of replicas, nonetheless they are amazing.

Now, I am going to sit back & enjoy my freshly brewed cup of Vietnamese coffee*.
Enjoy your day.

*AMAZING coffee. All coffee-lovers must try. Stronger & a unique taste. LOVE IT.

A painting of "The Serenity Prayer" I painted for Jake.

STILL?!

Still sick.
All I want is grilled-cheese, tomato soup
& a tea party in JAMMIES.

Thank goodness my boyfriend likes PJ's & grilled-cheese...& *pedicures! Because today is going to be quite relaxing.

*I took my boyfriend to get a pedicure yesterday, to cheer us up from the horrible month of March. He LOVED it and now thinks his feet are show-stoppers. OH BOY!
He also asked how often people get mani-pedis...I foresee pretty nails, fingers & toes, in the future.

Ramblin' Man.

When I got the idea...

I've made SO many headbands (soft & hard), barrets & clips!
[*Need to get new pictures up. ASAP]
This Fall I had a sweet little booth @ The Belmont Street Fair.
The weather was PERFECT and sales were good.
I may do another one soon, because street fairs are legit...
and good for people-watching.

Can't wait for this year!

I wish...

I wish I could teleport.
It'd save me a lot of time & money.

I was planning on taking advantage of my "Spring Break",
but I came down with some nasty flu-like symptoms.
Disneyland & Hawaii & Greece & Casablanca
will have to wait for the next few months.

Pictures. Old, but good.

SHELL button + BEE button & vintage fabrics.

My cousin, always reppin' my creations.

EVERYTHING is hand-sewn. I don't use glue (ick) on anything.

Third time's a charm.

Here I go again.
Another blog. 3rd one.
...
Except I am really going to enjoy writing about my new crafts & clever ideas this time around!

I started creating hair accessories after my gig as a counselor, for a Fashion Design/Art Camp.
Boy, are there a lot of young talented boys & girls out there. I can't imagine what we'll all be wearing in 20ish years...hopefully it has nothing to do with the 80's, except I do like bright pink lipstick and BIG hair.
